Restoration

The term “restoration” typically involves the process of returning a piece of furniture to its original state. For example, an antique cabinet or treasured family heirloom that has been well used or neglected. The restoration process might involve some level of repair work such as gluing and stabilizing loose joints or repairing loose or missing veneer. Replacing broken or missing glass panels or shelves and polishing tarnished hardware may also be needed. In many cases the original stain and or finish is salvageable and can be restored to preserve the intended patina. The restoration of furniture, regardless of its monetary value is always tremendously gratifying and rewarding. When we are able to bring a piece back to life and give it a renewed purpose, both the customer and Furniture Fixation are winners!
